My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

January is about 7 months old (born around the middle of August). She has been in foster since she was about 4 weeks. January is a special girl because her mom was diagnosed with FIV. Unlike most offspring born to FIV mothers, January did not convert to negative. Due to this she had been slow to grow. Kittens generally grow a pound a month. January gains about half a pound a month. She is up to 3.5 pounds. She eats great, she gets around just fine, but because of her small size is easily pinned by larger cats. She should probably not go to a home with small children. She lives with dogs and cats (both positive and negative!) in foster. No one can guarantee how long January will be healthy. She's done well in foster this far. She could possibly be a special case. She's looking for someone that is willing to look past that and love her - she's worth it! If you are interested in this sweet girl, please fill out an application today!

****Her adoption fee is $50****.

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.
All cats and kittens are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medical to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and mites they may have. All cats and kittens are feline leukemia tested, and cats at least a year old are also tested for feline immuno virus. Each cat or kitten receives the FVRCP vaccine; if a kittens stay with us is long enough, two or three boosters will be given after the initial vaccination.

Most cats and older kittens are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of kittens not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
