My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lacey
Lab/Plott Hound Mix
DOB 9/2/16

Sweet Lacey is a beautiful striped mix. Her pictures don't even do this beauty justice. If you like tigers, this girl is for you! Besides being beautiful, she is sweet as pie and loves a good cuddle!

Lacey is still working on potty training, but she's a smart girl and so she's coming along quickly. She walks nicely on a leash and would benefit from continued training as she's maturing. She does know sit and down. Since we think she is part hound mix, we recommend that she be leashed at all times as she likes to chase cats, small animals and birds.

Lacey is shy and not sure of loud noises, but she is learning to become confident. She would benefit having someone home most of the day as she is like Velcro with her foster parents. She doesn't love being in her crate (sleeps in bed with her foster family) and would prefer to be around her people. She rides well in the car.

Lacey is looking for a quiet and gentle family who understands that she is a sweet and delicate girl who just wants to be loved!

Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies.

Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a “teen” or adult dog.

Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
