Special home requirements or medical:
Timon was rescued off the streets of Mexico where, sadly, its common for them to get ticks. Certain ticks can pass on anaplasmosis which, sadly, he got but has recovered from. Although it is all cleared up,he should be re-checked in the beginning of next year to make sure it doesn't re-occur. This disease caused some kidney damage which we are treating with a special renal diet and medication. If the medication works his kidneys may re-generate and he could regain his full health but as with any medical condition, there is no guaranteed outcome. His new family needs to be aware that he may need to be on a special renal diet and meds for an extended period of time or even for life and they need to be prepared for this expense and also be committed to future testing as required by his vet.

Additional info: This beautiful guy came to us from Rosarito Mexico where he was found wandering around as a stray. Welcome to your new life in America,Timon. He is not scared and he gets along just fine with other dogs although he can have some leash aggression with other dogs on his walks. He's not crazy about his crate but we're working on that. Timon is cuddly and super sweet. He just loves people and his favorite hobby is giving non-stop kisses. He could stand to gain a couple of pounds. He is thriving already in his new surroundings and is so happy to have been rescued. He will really blossom in a home situation. Timon is high energy and can play for hours, catching the ball, romping around or just running around in circles. He can get a little "mouthy" when he plays but we are helping him to curb this habit. He has an independent spirit and would make a great hiking partner. Timon is just a sweetheart of a dog and so grateful to be in a safe, loving place.
