My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well we thought Dixie was finally at her furever home.  However, that adoption fell thru.  No fault of Dixie's - the family that had to return her were all in tears.

Dixie looks to be a mix between an Plotthound and a Treeing Tennessee dog.  She came to us as a stray with a lame leg.   Dixie's left hind leg looks to have been injured long ago, possibly from being hit by a car and then never treated.  She will use it rarely and when she does it is mostly for balance.  There are several scars on her hip and down that leg indicating some severe wounds when she was younger.  The leg nor the scars seem to phase this happy girl.  Our vet says she may experience some arthritis when she gets older from those previous injuries but other than that she is healthy as a can be.

She plays well with all the foster dogs she lives with.  Does well in the car and on walks.  Housebroken, crate trained and quiet.  Dixie would do well in a home with children or in a home with other dogs.  She loves to play ball, so much that she will throw it for herself!!  She is a happy go lucky girl.
