Rocky's Story...
Rocky was turned into rescue with his mom and dad (Baby Girl and Furby). Rocky is 8 years old (birthday, August 4, 2008). He is 21 pounds of love and sweetness. He is not an alpha dog at all. He just wants attention and loves to be on your lap. He has discovered toys and enjoys making them squeak. Rocky is attached to his doggy parents, but would do fine as long as someone is around a lot and willing to give him a lot of attention. We are making great advances on house training and for now, he has a belly band to wear in the house. I don't think he will need it long. If you are interested in more information or adopting this sweet one, please fill out an application to adopt.

We require a vet check and a home visit. Previous experience with Pekes is always a plus.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Richmond Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
