My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Veronica. We guess her to be a spitz, husky, corgi mix. She is about 5 yrs old, housetrained, crate trained and full of love. Veronica came to us from a high kill shelter in Indiana. After being rescued, she was found to be heartworm positive. That was a few months ago and since then she has been treated and rehabilitated by the women in the local prison, where she spent her time keeping quiet. She is now negative. She has now been in my care for about one month and she has shown a tremendous transformation in her personality. While she was originally very shy, she is now very affectionate and outgoing. She is not at all rambunctious but she does have her own quirky sense of play. I will say that she is mostly a people dog, but can be a playmate for the right dog. Veronica can be vocal with some dogs that she feels threatened by. She does have the run of the house when we are not home. The only time she is in a crate is for dinner so that everyone can eat in peace. Veronica is great around all people and children and has no specific house requirements. Because she is a pretty mellow dog, and not a big barker, she could live in an apartment or a non-fenced in yard if she is going to be walked. However, she is a runner and has escaped out the front door. Veronica just needs someone to love her as much as she loves her people. Some training would be very helpful. If you would like to learn more about her, please contact Denise via text at 630-439-6541. I work 12 hr days, so please allow me time to text you back at the end of the day. He adoption fee is $200.
