Agnes's Story...
Agnes is an adult female grey agouti guinea pig. She was surrendered by her owner due to difficulties with asthma and allergy related symptoms.
Agnes is beautiful. She is easy going, easy to handle, laid back. She does not run when trying to pick her up.
Agnes did have a cage mate who recently passed away.
Agnes was a little fidgety when we cut her nails but it was very easily completed.
She really loves to eat. We gave her a large piece of green leaf lettuce and she polished it off within 3 seconds. She is not picky at all with what she eats.
Ideally, it would be great to find her a forever home that already has a female piggie to bond her with since she recently lost her cage mate, however she seems to be holding her own without any signs of sadness.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Agnes, a Harleysville Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Harleysville, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Harleysville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harleysville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harleysville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harleysville paves the way for another one to be saved.
