Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We got a call from a lady that found a momma dog and 3 puppies under an abandoned trailer. She had never had a dog before just cats and had no clue what to do. We rushed over to help even though she was nearly 2 hours from us. When we got there the puppies came out to meet us and we got them very easy. As for mum (Hope) there was no sight of her. We sat there for a bit and she would not come out from wherever she was. We decided to get the puppies to safety and come back the next day with a humane trap to catch her. The puppies were old enough they did not need her milk anymore so we were not worried about her not being with them that night. We left her some food and went back the next day. We set the trap and put some hot dogs in there for her as who would not come to a hot dog? We kept are distance from the trap and watched as she walked around it trying to figure out how to get the food. Finally she went in and the trap did not go off. It was an older trap and was acting up. We set the trap near the ladies house as Hope had been getting in her trash. We got a call about 11pm to say she was in the trap and the lady took her in the house. We rushed the next day to get her and reunited her with her babies. It was a great sight to see them all so happy to see each other. Hope was very scared at her foster home and when it was time for her to be fixed we put her in a foster home with dogs her age and a fenced in yard where we knew she could not get out. Hope is still very scared but will come up to her foster mum for treats and will sleep on the bed around the other dogs. Hope is going to need someone to be very patient with her as it will take some time for her to trust someone as she is so timid. She also needs to be in a home with other dogs or she is going to be like a fish out of water. She loves to play with the other dogs in the home from 5lbs to 100lbs. She is only about a year old and 16lbs. She is some kind of wire haired terrier mix. If you are patient, have a fenced in yard and another dog or 2 for her to play with you sound like a great match for this beautiful sweet girl. She is fully vetted meaning fixed, current on all shots, heartworm negative, micro chipped and on monthly prevention.
