Chance is a deaf, 11 month old, 68 lb pit/ pit mix. He ended up at a municipal animal control facility after being picked up for wandering and when his owners realized he was there they went up and signed him over. He had been left outside since he was a pup and they never worked with him so he was too difficult for them to manage and they didn't want to bother with him any more. In all that time he had never been given a name "since he couldn't hear it any way." Well, lucky for this guy there is a kind hearted sucker at a local college who pulled him and let him hang out with the vet tech students so his behavior could be assessed. He was good with people, adults and children, and with other dogs. He remained at school until a CPR foster home opened up and he is now learning the ropes of living in a home. Given that he is deaf he will need someone who is willing to work on training him and has a good amount of patience as he is full of energy. We think he is worth the effort and deserves a shot at the good life. You would never know this derpy goofball has suffered any heartache because he is the happiest dog alive. More pictures to come.

This dog is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $375 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 2pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

About Companion Pet Rescue & Transport of New England

About Our Rescue Group...

CPR was formed in 2004 to assist unwanted pups and dogs with finding a new home. We rescue our pups from high kill shelters in TN, AR, MS, LA and TX. Without the dedication of the staff and volunteers of these shelters and without the assistance of CPR, the pups posted on our website would not be rescued. Before partnering with CPR, these shelters had euthanasia rates of 95%. We've reduced the euthanasia rate in all shelters by at least 50%. We rescue and rehome 200+ pups and dogs each month. We accomplish this task with the help of an awesome hard working and dedicated staff and volunteer base. Also helping us to accomplish what seems at times to be a thankless and overwhelming job is our pure and selfless love of dogs! We truly believe that rescue + rehoming = true love. <3
