Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dunkin was found along the side of the road in pretty bad shape. She had already lost her right eye and she was severely underweight for her age. We do not know how or why she lost her eye, but the vet says that it was a traumatic injury, not an illness. Since it has healed well, the vet left the eye as is so all you will see is a blue glow in that space. Her other eye works just fine! We tried and tried to find her owners, but no one has come forward to claim her and the required stray hold has now expired.
Update: We had Dunkin taken to another vet for a more comprehensive check of her missing eye. Surprise, her eye is still there! However, she has a condition called microphthalmia which basically means she has an underdeveloped eye. This condition can be caused by an injury, or it can be the way she was born. We just don't know in her case why she has this condition. It is not causing her any pain and she is so cute to watch when she turns her head to look at things with her good eye.
Dunkin is the sweetest kitty ever! She wants love and attention all the time. We can pick her up and carry her around the house with us all day long and she is just as happy and content as can be! All you have to do is talk to her or pet her and she will reward you with all the head bumps and purrs that you can handle!
Dunkin has tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, has been dewormed, and is up to date with all her shots. She requires a home where she will never be declawed, or allowed to go outside. The vet has estimated her date of birth to be about June 27, 2016.
