Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Whenever a sweet and engaging Spaniel or Terrier mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of these breed mixes are almost always very loving and open to close relationships with their people. They seem to fit so well into a family...and make very loyal and engaged companions for all age groups.
Sometimes the sensitive young dogs are a bit shy after their scary shelter experience....but put them in a home with a loving family and frequent socialization...and they will shine.
Jade is a very kind and loving girl whose only hope has always been for a family that would love her unconditionally. She is just about 12 lbs and 12 months old (such a great age - young enough to be puppy endearing and old enough to understand adult skills).
As just a young pup, Jade is a blank slate just waiting for a forever family to teach her the wonders of her world. If she is trained with positive reinforcement, given tons of love, socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs...Jade will grow into a self-confident adult who will be a bonded and loving companion. She has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament and a puppyish desire to please.
We'd like to place Jade in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Jade would also enjoy the company of a fun and respectful canine...she would love the playtime.
Jade will shine for a family who is motivated to take her to group obedience classes and to bring out all the wonderful qualities that live inside of this beautiful Spaniel/Terrier mix.
Jade would love hiking the trails of Colorado, window-shopping in downtown Denver to fine-tune her urban skills and being a very present companion all through the day. Jade will come to understand the skills of being alone for several hours and know that her family will always return. She'll be comfortable with this as a result of the love, consistency and kind boundaries present in her life.
Jade has the stunning and very shiny coat that speaks of her breeds. Great nutrition and periodic baths/grooming will result in a cottony-soft and matt-free coat on this beautiful girl.
Jade won't be spayed when she arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Texas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Jade's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.
Jade will be arriving on transport in Boulder in mid to late April. If interested in a very loving and cuddly lap-dog and best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
