Haley's Story...
A GREAT house dog! House trained, house broken, good with small and large dogs, good with cats! And, a lovely temperament. She's as good as it gets! Haley was surrendered to Poochmatch because her owner could no longer take care of her - she was quickly rehomed into what we thought was a forever home until her adopters decided to DNA test her and they were shocked and horrified to find out that she was not a Lab/Shepherd mix as her original owner thought but she was 50% Staffordshire Terrier. They suffered from the hysteria that it is only a matter of time before a "Pit Bull"'attacks their owner and promptly returned her to us. Despite the fact that Haley has never shown any signs of aggression.. She loves all people and all dogs and cats. She used to live with cats, she loves playing with large breed dogs, male and female and she is gentle with small breed dogs. She is house-trained, crate-trained and walks great on a leash. She is about 2 years old and weighs 60 pounds.

If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1 and 5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster mom.

All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, necessary vaccinations, fecal testing and deworming. Adoption fees vary solely based on age and size.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Haley, a Santa Ana American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Santa Ana, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Santa Ana.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Ana already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Ana breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Ana paves the way for another one to be saved.
