Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charlie is one of our special needs beagles. He is a wonderfully sweet 6 year-old boy who was found in the Alvin area. He was heartworm positive and though he was successfully treated for the heartworms, he was left with a heart condition that requires daily medications. With these medications, he can remain a healthy and active boy for years to come.
He is shy so takes him awhile to warm up to new people, though he loves to snuggle and stay close to his human housemates wherever they go! He gets along well with his beagle housemates, but would be very happy being the only beagle in the household. He is doggie door trained and has excellent house manners. He loves to go for walks and car rides. When you look in those eyes, you know he has had a tough life and he really deserves to live out the rest of his days in a safe, loving home.
Charlie will do best in a home where he gets a lot of individual attention. He takes 3 different medications twice a day. He loves the pill pockets so it is very easy to get him to take his meds. He will need vet checks every six months for monitoring.
