This handsome guy’s name is Rocko, and he’s a 14 year old Rottweiler mix who is looking for a new family to love. Rocko was surrendered to the shelter a few weeks ago by his owners. It wasn’t because they were moving, had a family member with allergies, or simply couldn’t afford to care for him any longer. Rocko was surrendered to the shelter because his family didn’t want to watch him continue to age and eventually pass away. The family had just lost their other dog and explained that going through that loss was just too hard, and couldn’t do it again. So after loving his family unconditionally for 14 years, Rocko is now at the shelter looking for a new home simply because he’s getting older.

Rocko is 14 years young, and still loves going on walks and exploring the neighborhood. He is used to living in a home with other dogs, but has told us he would prefer a home without cats….they’re too much fun to chase!

Rocko is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and has a microchip. He is in good health, but has the typical signs of old age. Joints that ache when he gets up, and a few ‘old man’ lumps and bumps. He loves affection and is a great cuddler too! He may not be as playful and cute as a puppy, but he promises to shower you with unconditional love just the same.
