Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Layla is a five-year-old German Shepard/Husky mix weighing about 60 lbs. She is a girl who has yet to meet a person she doesn’t like. She’s done well with children of a variety of ages. She already knows her basic commands such as sit, lie down, come and stay. She walks incredibly well on a leash and loves riding in the car. She is crate trained, but seems to enjoy spending the night on her dog bed in the same room as someone else. Layla is not the dog to leave alone regularly all day. She loves her human company and has been able to be okay with 4 hours so far. She is mostly housebroken, but since she is a California girl, her desire not to go to the bathroom in rain has caused her to have a few accidents inside. Layla will need a full fenced yard. She especially enjoys walks and hikes, but she also enjoys a good snuggle. She came up with a friend that she loves to play with, but needs a slow intro to new dogs – she doesn’t do well with crowds of dogs so is probably not a dog park dog.
(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) If you are interested in this dog, please go to the Adopt page of our website where you will find a link to an adoption application form https://www.chewdogrescue.org/index.php/adopt. If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
