My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky is 3 years old and already looking for his third home, that we know of. This boy was adopted from a shelter south of Houston as a stray dog last year. Rocky lost that home because he kept taking off when the kids left the gate open. Can’t blame a scent hound for following his nose! Rocky is 15 inches tall and a slender 27 pounds.

Rocky has quickly adjusted to living in a home with a dog door. He has good house manners and rarely causes any problems. Rocky has never gotten into anything that did not belong to the pack, Rocky interacts well with the others but iwas not super playful. He would join in on a chase occasionally but usually watched from a safe spot nearby. That all changed when a young playful female was added to the pack. Rocky now loves to wrestle and play tug of war with this little fire cracker! Rocky is still out in the yard on patrol, but now has a kindred soul to share duties with. He would do well in a household with a young female. Rocky is not food aggressive. He goes into a kennel at meal time without fuss with the lure of a treat.

Rocky is an affectionate boy who can soak up as much loving as you have to give. He will jump up next to you when invited and melt into your lap! He would do well as an only dog with a family that has time for him and lots of love to give, but would do great with a young female to keep him on his toes! He can be pretty noisy when he hears someone on the other side of the fence so may not be a good dog for an apartment.
