My story

Meet Marmee! She is a shy dear on the lookout for her loving forever home. Marmee came to us with her daughter Jo but the two of them don't always get along and are hoping to find homes of their very own. Marmee is a little under-socialized and is a touch nervous with new people. Even though she is shy, she is a total sweetheart and likes to have her head petted. Marmee is definitely a hound dog and will show off her great big bay if she gets bored. It will be super important that her new home provide her with plenty of exercise. She isn't super comfortable on leash right now but once she is she'll make a good hiking companion. Marmee hasn't had much in the way of training and may need to be signed up for positive, reward-based training classes depending on your experience. She is comfortable with other dogs but was so hungry when she came to us that she can guard her food. As long as you feed them separately, Marmee should do just fine living with an easy-going canine friend. Marmee can probably live with a confident cat. She can also go to a home with kids aged ten and up that will be patient with her while she is settling in.
