Toffee is a super friendly 18-pound, 4 month old puppy who was found at a shelter in Missouri. She looks like she might be part terrier, with her green eyes and white chest, but that is just a guess. She is definitely a mix, and she is definitely a very sweet puppy. Only those willing to take pot-luck in terms of what breed and size she grows into, should apply!
Her foster home tells us: "Toffee is very affectionate, with hugs and kisses for everyone! She has typical puppy energy-- she plays hard then naps. She knows to go potty outside, and after just a couple days, did not have any accidents in the house. She is completely submissive when meeting other dogs, and loved playing with my kids. She is smart and quick to learn, and very much wants to please. I think she will be a great family dog!"
Because she is still a puppy Toffee needs a family where someone is home part or all of the day, to keep her on a potty schedule and continue her socialization. Puppy obedience school is also a requirement.
You can meet Toffee at her current foster home-- Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette--during normal store hours 7 days a week (847-251-6750, wilmettepetcenter.com). Although she is so sweet you will want to wrap her up and take her home on the spot, please note you will have to submit an application and go through the approval process. Toffee's adoption fee of $325 includes exam, DAPP distemper combination vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, Rabies vaccination, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, deworming, microchip and spay.
