Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. My name is Bitsy. Unfortunately, my life has been turned a bit upside down as of late. My owner that I lived with for 15 years was put into a nursing home. Instead of keeping me safe, my family took me to a shelter. Being completely blind, I was terrified. Everything was loud, and scary, and unfamiliar. Thankfully, the kind people at the shelter quickly realized my predicament, and reached out to NBS Animal Rescue so that I could get out of the shelter and into a home ASAP. And that's exactly what happened. The kind rescuers picked me up the very next day. It wasn't my original home, but it was safe, and loving, and they ensured me they would take care of me. Now, I am opening back up into the sweet boy that I am. I navigate fairly well on my own, and I love to be around my people. My favorite things are to be held and to snuggle on the couch. All I really want is someone to love me for all the time that I have left to be a loyal companion. It is important to know that I am blind senior, and I do have a grade 2 heart murmur, so I can't be neutered and get the normal dental that my rescuers typically provide.
Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too!
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 12yrs or older
- 100% physically fenced in yard required. No exceptions.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $150.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
