Maiya's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.

Maiya's Story...
While living in the 5th Ward doing church work, a stray, sick dog adopted me. I had her spayed and treated for heartworms and now she is ready for a loving forever home. I am moving to a small apartment. She needs a family with room to run and humans to give her plenty of opportunities for love and play. She is in good health and crate trained. She knows basic commands such as sit and stay. My best guess is that she is around two years old, but I cannot be sure. She has rarely been around other dogs while in my care, but I KNOW she does not like cats. I think she would love to be an "only dog-child". I feel I did my part to save her life and am praying for a loving family to take her into their hearts and home. I am willing to cover the adoption fee for her to go to the perfect home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maiya, a Houston American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
