Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“Something in my heart told me I must have you.” Words from Frank Sinatra’s Strangers in The Night. Did you know that Scooby Doo got his name from this song? Well our Scooby isn’t named for Scooby Doo but the words to the song make perfect sense for this loveable little man. He is a 6 pound, 10-year-old Yorkie. He is utterly adorable as he is one of those Yorkies with floppy ears, which is a very pretty frame for his face and makes him look like a puppy. While he is super cute with his fur currently groomed short, when he first came in his coat was quite long, almost covering his feet. If someone wanted to provide the care for it, he could be kept long and it would be beautiful. His coloring is a pretty blue and gold.
Scooby would not do well in a busy household with small children. He must always be on leash or in a very securely fenced yard as he is extremely reactive to moving vehicles (including bikes) and it’s possible that if he had the opportunity he would chase them. This guy is the ultimate low-key cuddle-bug (with the exception of the above moving vehicles). He is happiest when he is napping on someone. He LOVES to be with his people, but can also be content when he isn’t. He is crate trained, leash trained, house trained but will also use a pee pad), polite, and doesn’t bark just to bark (will alert bark and will often bark when he REALLY has to go out to potty). Scooby has a gentle personality, doesn’t require a lot of exercise but loves to go for walks. He has a charming habit of doing multiple twirls when we are getting ready to go outside- so cute! He isn’t much of a toy guy, but loves to chew on small bully sticks and such.
Scooby does have dry eye in his left eye (makes no tears at all) so he will need drops in that eye for the remainder of his life. (he is very good about allowing you to put the meds in). While this sweet dog is a senior at 10, he still has a ton of walks, snuggles and love in him for his new family. His adoption fee is $275. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current of flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
