Patton's Story...
This sweet boy was found by a Good Samaritan and turned over to us. Patton is a big red boy who is 4-5 years old. Patton just wants to be wherever you are and will follow you from place to place. Patton gets along well with other dogs and is very food motivated. When Patton first came to us he was very emaciated, weighing only 46 lbs., and his toenails were so long he could barely walk. He is gaining weight nicely and has been neutered. Patton is a happy, active boy. Patton is current on vaccinations and will begin heartworm treatment soon.

Watch for more details on this happy boy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patton, a Houston Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
