Alea is a one year old, 35lb Shepherd mix. She is a sweet soul who is learning to navigate what being a family pet is all about. Alea is quickly learning her doggy do's and don't's. She is crate trained, knows how to walk on a leash, and almost completely house trained. Medium energy, some of her favorite things to do are play with her canine foster brother, investigate her kitty roommate, and take long snoozes in the sun. Alea can live with cats as long as her feline companions are dog savvy and don't mind the occasional game of tag. She loves kids and would do well with children five and up since she still has some puppy tendencies such as jumping and mouthing for attention. Although social with women and kids, Alea is prone to shying away from unfamiliar men. She would love an understanding adopter or family who is willing to help her become more confident with men and in general. Alea will shine in a household with a confident dog sibling to show her the ropes and a person (or people) to give her love to. Playful, good in the car, and eager to please, Alea would be the ideal companion for anyone in search of their new best friend! Alea will be available to meet on 5/2.
