Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Raylan (named after the hero of the Justified TV series). As you can see, this is one beautiful boy! He is also sweet and affectionate, but still very puppy-like and doesn't know his own strength. He has been evaluated by Wolf Pack Training and here are some of the findings: Friendly Greeter, Showed no aggression when handled even when pulled away from desired object ( cat) or object ( scarf) was taken out of his mouth. Needs a firm but fair hand or will try to get away with unwanted behaviors with a submissive or a novice person. (ie: jumping, pulling on leash etc) Energetic and doesn’t know his own size so shouldn’t be with small kids, Not aggressive towards the cat or the dogs I saw him come in contact with but plays rough. This could be changed with training. Makes eye contact, but not super focused probably due to him not bonding with anyone at a younger age. It will take time for him to bond with someone. Training will help to build that bond and focus. Energy level 6. He is active but not overly exuberant. He must have a fenced yard and be with people that are active and will walk/hike with him. Affectionate but not needy. Confidence level is good, not overly confident but will investigate and work through an obstacle. (walking on pool tarp) Doing obedience training and working on environmental obstacles can help to build that confidence. Raylan is an all around a good dog that could be a great companion for someone that is willing to put in the time and effort to train and bond with him.
The adoption fee for Raylan is $100, and you must live within 100 miles of Princeton, KY (We do home visits.). Please go to safehavenky@gmail.com to request an application.
