My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies, if serious about adoption please email caarescue@gmail.com~
My name is Paco!
I was surrendered to the Montreal SPCA and they reason they listed was because of my poor behavior… I am still a little unsure what that even means….
I was very terrified in my cage at the SPCA so they contacted CAA Rescue and immediately a foster family said yes to helping me. They were not really sure what my “behavior problems” were but they are pretty experienced with fostering dogs so they took a chance on me hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
I am really HAPPY to let everyone know that I am doing very awesomesauce in foster care!
I am house trained, I do my business outside and on pee pee pads.
I absoCHIHUAHUAlutely love my walks and I am leash trained.
I currently live with other dogs in the foster home, they are pugs and can you believe it I am not the “yappy” one in the family?!? Ohhh for sure when those guys start barking I chime in because well HECK barking for absolutely no reason is fun but on my own I am pretty quiet so far in foster care. I don’t just bark for no reason when alone and have never barked at anyone on my walks.
I am left alone a full work day uncrated with no anxiety or destruction in the foster home. It is important to note though that in foster care when the humans leave I am not really alone. I have the pugs to snuggle with and the cats to chase for entertainment… just kidding! I don’t mind the cats and pretty much ignore them most of the time. Could be because they are twice as big as I am :)
I am your typical ChiBabyMan, I want my humans all to myself and if you let me I will guard and protect you. It is my nature! So I need a smart Chihuahua person who knows that this behavior is not appropriate and will not encourage it.
It is important to note that when you come to meet me I will be shy. I typically am with strangers. I was that way when I met my foster mom for the first time but if you watch me with her you will see how wonderful I am once I get to know you and trust that you will be my forever guardian.
I do what all other Chihuahuas do when it is bed time, I hop into bed and burrow under the covers to sleep next to you. So if you have a significant other know that I will be doggie in the middle when it comes to bed time :)
At this time in foster care I show no signs of food or toy possession or aggression. I have not been tested with children.
I think I would do really well in agility class! I can get onto just about anything when my foster mama is not looking! Beds, desks and even tables! Imagine if I found someone who could harness this natural skill of mine. We would be champions at every event. I am very agile! I do listen well when my foster mom tells me to get down but when she is not looking I am right back up there to investigate.
Here is what my foster mama has to say about my ideal family: He needs somebody that will treat him like a dog and not let him do whatever he wants when he wants. Someone that will be able to leave him on the floor and not always pick him up. I can see that he is used to always being in someone's arms, but that he is also happy to walk on his own. He is so happy when I put his leash on and we go outside!

If you have experience with Chihuahuas, understand that I am dog first and foremost, can continue with my training and be patient with me because I will be very confused about all the changes that will happen in my life moving to a new home, if you are a home body, active and have a fully fenced in back yard I think you should write to CAARescue@gmail.com Right NOW and ask them for an application for adoption so that we can meet and maybe we can be best friends forever!

~ ~ ~ ~
If you would like to meet Paco at his foster home in Mirabel please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Paco we will make arrangements for you to meet him for potential adoption
