Here's what the humans have to say about me:
So you like a polite, respectful dog? Here's LUCKY. He was surrendered by his owner for reported concerns with the grandkids, though there was no elaboration and no reports of bites or incidents, so we're not exactly sure what this was about. He was a perfect gentleman in the shelter and has been with us for the most part as well - having said that, he seems to be a senior, just starting to get a little creaky, and he has let other 4-legged friends know when he feels the need for personal space. He tested wonderfully with cats - he's just not at that puppy bouncy stage of life where he interacts tons with other animals. He has been extremely well-behaved with people in every way - walks nicely on leash, very well-behaved in the home...just a sweet, low key guy who is enjoying the start of his golden years.
He would be well suited to a less active home, though he would like regular walks to help him get rid of his spare tire and get a little healthier. He could go to a home with or without other pets happily, and same with kids - but I would not subject him to a home with small kids, it's just not the stage of life he's in right now. He would be a super companion to seniors who like him, are still enjoying life, just not at the pace we keep in our youth. He would probably do well with some glucosamine to keep him as limber as possible for as long as possible and a nice comfy bed...he won't disappoint you as he completes the picture of the home with a faithful companion laying at the hearth.
