My name is Nilla. I was recently rescued from a cruelty case, but don’t let my past scare you off. I may have come from a sad background, but I haven’t let that slow me down. I’m what my foster mom calls a constant ball of energy. I love to play with other pups and my humans, especially if there is a plush toy involved. If you decide it’s time to do some yard work, I hope you include me in it. I love run back and forth with the lawn mower (to make sure you’re safe, of course) and love to splash around in the little dog pool. I’m a little big for the pool, but don’t worry, I always find a way to make it work. I do pretty good on a leash when it comes time for walks, but I do get very excited when I see other dogs because I just know they want to be my friend.

Feeding time is my favorite time. I sometimes get excited and make a bit of a mess with my food, but I’m learning to slow down a little, and I always clean up my mess. I also love to snack on some frozen pumpkin or peanut butter in my kong if you put me in my kennel when you have leave. I am kennel trained, but I also do just fine outside of kennel when you have to go somewhere (haven’t had a single accident yet!). Even as much as I love to play, I know that when the lights go out, it’s time for bed. I sleep straight through the night, and won’t bother you until you are ready to get up and let me outside.

I have done great with all of the children I have been around, even the little ones. As long as I get pets and love from my humans, I have nothing but love to give back! I haven’t been around cats, so I’m not real sure how I would do around them. But I do pretty good around other dogs. I get a little anxious around small dogs, and I haven’t quite figured out the best way to play with the little guys yet. But I’ve never been aggressive with them. I just need to learn how to control my big clumsy dane body!

If you love to play catch, get head nudges and snuggles, and can handle my excitement for play time, then we’d be a match in heaven. I can’t wait to find a forever home that is ready for all the love I have to give, because there is A LOT.
