Hero & Tevo - Egyptian Dogs!'s Story...
The story of Hero and his best friend Tevo began in Cairo, Egypt where the streets are rough for stray dogs.

In December 2016 Hero was shot 25 times with a BB gun and left to die in the streets. When rescuers got the call about him they thought for sure he was dead but then discovered a very faint and labored heartbeat - a true miracle! They gave him the name Hero, patched him up and brought him to the shelter where Tevo landed a couple of months prior after after being hit by a car.

Tevo is a timid dog who didn't do well fending for himself on the streets of Cairo and wasn't doing a good job of holding his own at the shelter either. Hero, being the resilient dog that he is, displayed such composure and assurance during his recovery that they paired him up with Tevo and the two dogs bonded instantly. Hero quickly became the protector and father-figure to Tevo who in turn began to flourish next to a dog who was so confident.

The Cairo Animal Rescue Team (who was responsible for rescuing and rehabilitating Hero and Tevo) partnered with us to bring them to America. And so their journey to a forever life began on April 22nd, the day they stepped out of their crates and onto American soil at JFK Airport.

Before we even met Hero and Tevo we decided we wouldn't bother trying to place them together. After all, finding a home for one dog is not easy. A home for two would be even harder.

But once we met them we quickly learned that they belong together. There is something true and deep that connects Hero and Tevo. Perhaps it's the abuse they suffered or the spirits that were broken and then repaired, or the mere fact that they put everything they have into trusting humans despite what they've been through...

Hero is a true Egyptian Baladi who weighs 60 pounds and boasts a gorgeous wiry yellow lab-like coat. He's two years old and is sweet, confident and composed. He's also the leader of the pack. Hero allows other dogs to greet him and sniff him out but he will always let them know who's in charge.

Tevo is a Shepherd mixed with Baladi who weighs 45 pounds and boasts a silky smooth coat. He is just 9 months old, sweet, silly and timid.

While some might think it would behoove Tevo to learn how to fend for himself and live without Hero, we don't feel this way. And if you meet them, you will share this sentiment.

Our beautiful, resilient and worthy Egyptian boys are neutered, up-to-date on shots and microchipped. They even have a passport! To meet them please email us at beastlyrescue@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hero & Tevo - Egyptian Dogs!, a Union Beach Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Union Beach, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Union Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Union Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Union Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Union Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
