Hi there, I'm Rocco! I'm a 3-year-old neutered male pup. I weigh about 20 pounds. My friends here think I'm a Wirehaired Dachshund/Pug mix. I know it sounds like a wacky combination, but check out my cute chunky body and curly tail and judge for yourself! If you adopt me, you should definitely run a DNA test. I'm sure the results would be interesting.
I'm a sweet, fun-loving guy with lots of love in my heart to share. I get along well with people and other dogs, too. There are no strangers in my book, just friends I've yet to meet!
I arrived at CageFree by way of the South LA pound. I was turned in as an owner surrender by my previous family. I'm such a good boy, I can't imagine why they decided to give me up. It wasn't my fault, I'm sure. Once I arrived in the big scary shelter, I was petrified. I mean, I was used to sleeping in a soft comfy bed in a house, and here I was, being forced to sleep on a concrete surface outside! It was a shock to my system.
I didn't know how long I'd have to spend in that chaotic environment, but then, one day, my luck changed! A couple of kind folks from CageFree saw me sitting in my cage and insisted on breaking me out of doggy jail. The next thing I knew, I was in a car on my way to CageFree's facility. My freedom ride!
So now here I am, settling in and getting to know all the nice people and pups here at CageFree. They're treating me really well, giving me plenty of food and lots of pets and cuddles, but I'm hoping for an even happier ending. I hope to find the perfect forever home, where I'll be showered with affection and provided a warm and comfy bed to sleep in.
