Hailey is a pretty mostly dachshund, she is estimated about 15 months old and weighing about 14LBS. She is so sweet but slow to warm up to new people as she learns to trust them. She loves to go for car rides and will follow you wherever you go! She will be the most dedicated companion. She is good with new dogs and wrestles with her foster’s three dogs. She also loves to chew on toys. She walks well on a leash, and is very social with other dogs while out and about. This girl has a casual approach to life. She is potty trained though did have an accident recently when it rained, otherwise she hasn't had an accident in a long time. She would do well with a doggy door. On nice days, foster mom leaves the door cracked and she has done great about going outside. Her awesome foster mom has taught her basic commands like sit, stay, and down. She was found with her buddy Katelyn on the streets and has come a long way in her foster home, her buddy has since been adopted and now its Hailey's turn! She is especially skittish with men and it took a month at the foster home with a very patient husband laying on the floor to gain her trust. She still cowers when anyone wants to pick her up. She will need a family who understands that not all humans have been kind to her in the past and will take some time and patience from her new family while she learns they are good humans who are going to love and spoil her. She is not a barker but will alert if someone is at the front door, otherwise a quiet girl. She even ignores her foster’s chickens! Foster recently took in a tiny puppy and Hailey has been wonderful with the new baby and has been very nurturing. She has been spayed, current on her vaccinations, dewormed, frontlined and microchipped. She loves to be burrowed next to you or on your lap, and once you have her trust, she will be yours for life! Hailey hasn't had an easy life, but is doing wonderfully being in a loving home. Please help us make her dreams of a happily ever after come true!
