My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Zoey (after Chicago Cubs player Ben Zobrist)

How old are you? approx. 4 months

How much do you weigh? less than 20 lbs

What do you look like? I’m a brindle beauty

What do you like to eat? Anything!

What kind of personality do you have? I’m a confident little lady that can be pushy! But I’m very friendly with people and dogs. I have a TON of drive and energy so I would really love to be in a home that has experience with working type dogs, I would love to do a ring sport or sport activity like dock diving when I grow up! Oh, and I’m really fast like a canon my foster mom says when I do treat luring!

Describe your perfect day: That’s easy! My perfect day includes playing with my foster siblings, eating, a little napping, bonding with my peeps, repeat!

What is your favorite toy? All of them! I have a lot of drive and LOVE to fetch and play tug! Tug is SOOO much fun!

Do you know any tricks? I’m still learning but I’m a pro at treat luring already so training me will be a breeze!

What scares you? Well, I’m still very young so I guess some things could scare me but I haven’t experienced scared yet and I may not ever…I’m a confident girl!

Have you been around children? Do you like them? Children are fun, I do like them!

Do you like cats? Right now yes, so if someone gives me positive exposure to them I’m sure I’ll like them for life!

How do you feel about other dogs? Ohhhh, I love them all!

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? First, A forever home and second would be Chicago!

How is your health? Healthy as ever!

Who do you live with your foster home and who is your closest companion? I have my foster mom and dad and a lot of doggy foster siblings! My closest human companion is my foster mom and closest doggy sibling is NBBR foster Addison. He lives with me too!

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In my crate!

Where do you sleep? In my crate!

Do you like walking on a leash? Not yet, but I’m learning!

Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? I only bark when I want my doggy foster siblings to play with me, my mom says I’m pushy but I say I’m just so happy to play all the time.

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) I’m 100% potty trained when in my crate, I’m still working on telling my foster family I need to go potty outside while I’m inside the house so they watch me like a hawk!

Do you like water? Of course I like to drink it! I mind myself during baths and haven’t experienced a pool yet but I will soon!

What do you love about your foster family? They take good care of me and let me play with all the doggy’s a lot.

What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? Well, a lady found me in a Wilton vineyard. The nice lady knows my foster mom and asked her for some help. The lady and my foster mom met and that’s when my foster mom took me to her house and called Norcal Bully Breed Rescue to see if I could be in their rescue and NBBR said of course! I feel very lucky to have my foster mom and my rescue to keep me happy and healthy!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a "first come, first serve" basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary). If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you can visit our website at norcalbullybreedrescue.com and fill out an adoption application (from your home computer). Please allow at least 24 to 48 hours for a reply. Thanks in advance.

Zoey's adoption donation is $350.

Interested in meeting Zoey or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
