Meet sweet, old man Rory. He was found as a stray and made his way to a shelter where he was never claimed. He was in very bad shape. He is severely underweight, was covered in mats and dirt and has the worst skin we have ever seen on a dog. He also has chronic back pain from arthritis,but he doesn't let that slow him down.
His foster family made sure to cut off the nasty mats and gave him a much needed bath. They have started him on coconut oil massages to help hydrate his dry skin. He is on some pain meds for his back and is slowly gaining weight with regular meals.
Despite his rough shape, he is the sweetest dog in the world. He loves snuggling and playing outside. He gets along with other dogs, ignores cats and does okay around people as long as they are gentle with his back. While he seems to enjoy kids, its best that he be in a home without young children just to avoid the temptation for them to pick him up or play too rough. He would do best in a slower paced home that would be willing to continue with his pain regimen and coconut oil massages to help him recover . He has a long road to be completely healed, but he is getting there.
