My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Tallulah! I am one sweet 9 year old beagle gir. I am very sweet and very shy. I want to be petted sooooo bad, but I'm a little nervous about humans. I am a small little beagle with a really white face and beautiful big ole dark brown saucer eyes. When you pick me up and hold me close, I suck up against you and practically crawl inside of you. I love to watch humans and am very curious about everything, like I am seeing it all for the first time (coming from a puppy mill I probably am)
For the first week and 1/2 at my foster home I stayed outside all the time. I dug myself a little den under the gardening bench and lay in it even when the rest of the humans and animals were in the house. One time I made a little bed out of a flower pot that had soil but no flowers in it. I fit perfectly curled up in it and was happy as I could be. Each night my foster mom had to go out an get me to go to the kennel for bed time. Now I have gotten used to staying in the house with the other dogs for a longer amount of time each day. I still enjoy being outside on my own though. I love to roll around on the grass. Right now the grass is very dry for the winter so when I roll around in it my fur is completely covered in brown grass. I love it! I am a little nervous about sudden or loud noises. If something scares me, I will run out the doggy door and wait until I feel safe. Sometimes I will sit with my muzzle just inside the flap of the doggy door so I can see and hear what's happening in the house but make a quick get away if needed.
Since I spent most of my life in a very small cage with no positive human interaction it is taking me a while to trust and relax. But my foster mom sees it slowly coming along each day. I just love humans, they just make me a little nervous with their sudden moves and sometimes loud voices. My forever family will need to give me lot's of love and cuddling and time to adjust. I truly deserves it and I know I will give lot's of love and loyalty right back!
I do hope that someone will take me home with them, and give me time to get to know them. I will soften up, it will just take some patience and time. I do hope you will give me that chance!!!
