Sweet, Curious, Full of Character

Violet is what you would call a 'cat's cat' - she is very much a typical cat with no surprises. She loves the company of people but also values her independence. She really wants to be in the same room with you but respects your space when it comes to laps. Violet enjoys nice head and behind the ear rubs and loves to nap right next to her foster mom on the sofa.
Violet has typical cat behaviors when it comes to play time. She's a big fan of the laser pointer and crinkly balls and will play with them in spurts of energy. Violet loves her foster mom’s shih tzu doggy and will seek her out for play time.

Violet is a participant in the Paws in the City Guest Dog Program, so her ongoing care and custody are provided by her foster, not by Paws in the City. To meet, please fill out an adoption application at  http://pawsinthecity.org/adopt.htm

About Paws In The City

About Our Rescue Group...

Paws In The City® is committed to supporting the City of Dallas Animal Shelter by hosting off-site adoptions for the dogs and spay/neuter education and fundraising through specific outreach programs.

Paws In The City is a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization committed to ending overpopulation, abuse and neglect of Dallas dogs and cats . We are an all volunteer organization with no paid staff.

Paws In The City is committed to the following goals:

 Rescuing homeless dogs and cats from the City of Dallas animal shelters by sponsoring off-site adoptions to find these abandoned animals terrific, loving homes…often many of these wonderful pets are days away from being euthanized simply because there are not enough homes... a tragedy we are determined to end;

 Providing a comforting and positive environment for adoptions;

 Providing medical care to neglected, abused, and injured animals through our outreach efforts;

 Educating the public on responsible pet ownership; and

 Supporting spay and neuter programs…the simple, common sense solution to ending the number of unwanted dogs and cats on our streets and in our city shelters.

Why we do it

Local Stats:

25,699 were killed by lethal injection.
Less than 2000 were adopted or re-claimed by owners.
200,000 - Estimated cats and dogs killed each year in animal shelters in Denton, Collin, Tarrant, and Dallas alone.
