My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suli is 5 years old and 33lbs.

When Suli was rescued nearly 4 years ago, she had a fractured femur from physical abuse that had healed on its own from negligence. Suli also had three surgeries for hernia. The vet told us that she is healthy overall, and will have no noticeable issues from her injuries - but due to all the abuse, Suli was extremely fearful and cautious of people. This led to Suli's 3 year long stay at the shelter, until we were able to send her to a training school 6 months ago.
After much professional training, Suli has developed trust in people again and has made remarkable recovery. She is still a bit wary of strangers, but opens up after few meetings. Suli is a smart, intelligent girl, and we are confident that she will flourish with continuous training.
Suli is UTD on all her shots and is spayed.
Her #adoption fee is $350.
*Suli is currently in Korea. If you would like to #adopt her, please email donghaepaws@gmail.com with a bit of information about yourself (e.g. your experience as a dog owner, your family and/or other pets, etc.) and your phone number. A HDP volunteer will promptly respond to your email. Thank you!

Prior to rescue, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization and it takes time for them to learn about life as a family pet. Common skills such as house training and leash walking may often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
A home check is mandatory before adoption.
We adopt to residents of Northern VA and Washington DC suburbs only.

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
