My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Farley comes to Animatch because his family who have two young children felt that they no longer had the time for him. No time seems to be a very acceptable reason to give up a dog. Sadly when people drop off their dogs, they rarely want to listen to solutions that might take some time and effort. Rescues makes it very easy to “get rid” of a dog. Honestly, it’s even considered okay by many, which is highly disturbing. Some even talk about how “hard” it is for them, never considering how devastating it is for the dog. Animatch welcomes the neglected, abused, sick, and injured. When a dog is taken from a horrific situation and brought to a loving environment, like Animatch, they feel like they are in Heaven. These are not always the saddest cases – the dogs who have been in what they thought were loving homes are the ones that take the longest to adjust. They wait … for their families to return. In the early days, they expect their families to come back so they sit, they watch … they wait. Their devotion never wavers even if the people that they trusted have let them down.

If you can’t offer a dog a lifetime commitment, please don’t adopt. The Farley’s of this work deserve better. Farley is a 5.5-year-old laid back Bernese mix. he has been shaved, so when his fur grows out we might see the Bernese it him. He likes other dogs and will need daily exercise although he is not hyper. Farley can be timid around men but with proper introductions, he is friendly. Farley has many years to devote to his new family. If you can commit to him for all of those years, please fill in the Adoption Form.
