My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Princess Sassy has arrived in Rhode Island! She is a breath of fresh air on four legs....friendly, happy, very sweet, very beautiful and oh so vivacious, you can't help but smile.

Sassy was turned into the shelter in horrifying shape, and has been with our Texas fosters for many months getting better. She has made many strides as you can see by comparing the first to last pictures, but she still has a way to go and should be adopted with this awareness. Her current skin battles are diagnosed as bacterial, and we would not be at all surprised if she has some long term allergy issues. Whatever the case, her new adopter will need to be prepared to pick up the ball where we have left off and continue to participate in her continued road to recovery. She has relapsed in the past, so maintaining current protocols while working with your vet and perhaps a natural diet (which we will start her on here) to have strict control of the ingredients she is eating is what we would recommend.

This five year old beauty is very companionable and will be a marvelous addition to any home, but preference will be given to those with establish, solid veterinary references. She loves other dogs and adores children, and will fit well into a myriad of situations.
