My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Pending: We have a home in the works for this nice boy. Heartworm treatment has been done and he had a good recovery.

My name is Ian.  I am a smaller male black n white cocker spaniel about 3 to 4 years old possibly with a bit of a mix in me. I look mostly cocker and I have a natural tail.  I came to rescue with 2 other cocker boys thought to be my brothers from a local shelter. All 3 of us were alone and running around loose until we got picked up as strays by NC Animal Control. When no owner came looking for us the staff asked for rescue help because all 3 of us tested as strong heartworm positive.

The rescue vet knew that I was heartworm positive and would need treatment to get well. They also found that my needs had been sadly neglected as I was badly matted, filthy dirty, I had skin issues and an ear infection.  I was also covered with ticks and fleas and I had hooks and whipworms. Shortly after coming here all 3 of us developed a horrible case of respiratory infection, so we were taking medicines to get well. I had a dental and was neutered before my heartworm treatment was done. It went well and I have had a good recovery. Now I am ready to find a home.  It seems that I must have been loved as I am a gentle, loving, easy going, happy boy.  I am a real sweet guy and I dearly crave human attention and love. I enjoy being with my brothers, but Ferguson and Riley have a closer bond to each other and I am not as dependent on them as they are on each other. I will do best with children 7 plus years old. Please consider adopting me, I will be a wonderful companion for you to love and share a great life with. I would love to be your new best friend and sweet baby boy.
