ADOPTED ON 12-16-17 - This dog cannot be adopted to Massachusetts residents due to new laws regarding rescue dogs being prohibited from adoption. Please contact Patricia Cabral at: 617-626-1786 or Mike Cahill at: 617-626-1794 for questions regarding what dogs you are allowed to adopt.

Tripp and his two littermates were tossed out on the side of the road to fend for themselves, this heartbreaking situation. Tripp and his sister Kate would need to be adopted together. Tripp is part of a beautiful litter of pups, a little boy and his three sisters, tossed out like garbage on the side of the road to fend for themselves, is such a heartbreaking situation that happens all too often. These sweethearts were barely three months old. How anyone thought it would be OK to dump them and assume they would be fine is beyond cruel. Or maybe they just didn’t care what would happen. Luckily, it is heartening to know that there are just as many good people willing to help, and that is exactly what occurred. A kind woman picked them up as she walked her own dogs and brought them to a shelter where they were immediately treated and fed. As it turns out, these little cuties, Catahoula Leopard/Cur mixes, are wonderful puppies, full of love and energy, and waiting for a loving forever home.

This is Kate - she looks just like her brother Tripp. Tripp and Kate are beautiful Leopard Catahoula coat is stunning; he is very sweet and loving and has fun wrestling and playing with his foster family. He loves everybody that he comes in contact with and never meets a stranger. Tripp is the only boy of the four and his sister Kate is also available. He is exceptionally handsome and he has a sweet personality. He loves rough-housing with his sisters and the other dogs at the foster home, and enjoys children very much. This video is of Kate playing with her foster family. Their adoption fee is $450 each.

Tripp would fit in well with most families, and children to play with would be a bonus. Catahoula Leopards are active breeds and need plenty of exercise. They are also loyal, loving and fun. He is a wonderful family and is a very active young dog who is eager to go go go---is super friendly and dearly loves his humans. He is just happy no matter where he is!

Like all rescue dogs, Tripp needs a safe and comfortable environment where he will continue to thrive and grow and blossom into the amazingly special dog he is. The only thing missing? A forever home of his own and endless love to celebrate his special character:

Please consider giving Tripp and his sister Kate a chance and open your heart and home to this sweet pair. They promise to give you years of joy for the whole family.

ABOUT THE CATAHOULA LEOPARD BREED
Catahoula Leopard Dogs have a gentle family spirit. Easily comfortable playing on the carpet with children. Gentle, wise and easygoing, they make an agreeable family dog and warm-hearted friend. They are naturally protective of their home and family, and make excellent watch/guard dogs.

Catahoula Leopard’s are exceptionally intelligent and loyal. However, they are also a highly energetic and very assertive breed. They are affectionate and sensitive to their owner. As one owner puts it, they are "strong" and "made of whipcord and leather". They are very protective of their family

CHILDREN
Some describe the Catahoula Leopard as a great babysitter for kids. The Catahoula Leopard is suitable for families with children, but despite his family loyalty and protectiveness, all dogs should always be supervised in the presence of toddlers or young children.

Always teach children how to approach and touch dogs, and always supervise any interactions between dogs and young children to prevent any mouthing, biting, or ear or tail pulling on the part of either party. Teach your child never to approach any dog while he's sleeping or eating and not to try to take the dog's food away. No dog should ever be left unsupervised with a child.

PET COMPATIBILITY
Catahoula Leopard’s get along well with other dogs. All adult dogs regardless of the breed, they may require more of an adjustment period before they welcome the company of another dog. To ensure the best relationship, choose a dog of the opposite sex. Make introductions in a neutral area away from your home.

TALK ABOUT CATAHOULA LEOPARD FROM THE OWNERS
• I love this breed because they are very loyal and not aggressive.
~Erica G, owner of a Catahoula Leopard Dog

• We just adopted our second Catahoula Leopard puppy and they are the laziest and low maintenance dogs I have ever owned, lol. We have fallen madly in love with the Catahoula Leopard breed but I have yet to see any working from these dogs! Lol
~Robin Lynn Williams, owner of a Catahoula Leopard

A LOVING FAMILY DOG
My boyfriend has had his Catahoula Leopard for four years and she is one of the sweetest dogs I know. She is very protective but so very loving at the same time. Since I've come to live with him she likes to stick close to me while he's at work, and while we already knew she'd be great with the baby we're expecting it's comforting to see the facts back this up.
~Maryah M, owner of a Catahoula Leopard Dog

• These dogs are loyal and offer the best protection. And they're great with little kids
~Medusa, owner of a Catahoula Leopard Dog

GOOD WATCHDOG WHO LOVES CHILDREN
• Our Catahoula mix is the best of both worlds. She loves children and is an extremely good watchdog.
~Joan M., owner of a Catahoula Leopard Leopard Dog

About Our Rescue

These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption fees never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.

Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherished as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their rehoming, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!

Thank you for respecting that we all donate our time to saving these animals, and understand we value your philanthropic and compassionate desire to help be part of the rescue team. That said, you'll understand why we are committed to the well-being of our charges and consider this veterinarian check mandatory. If you are a first-time dog owner, we will work with you every step of the way! ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION ARE AS MUCH A PART OF RESPONSIBLE RESCUE AS ADOPTION! And it takes a RESCUE VILLAGE to help the most dogs possible in a thorough manner to ensure success on all fronts, and then some! It is an awful feeling to fail a dog, and we can't continue rescue if we don't do everything we can to ensure good matches for the dogs and tender families who might adopt them. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

Although we are an extremely small rescue group, we understand and respect your family's eagerness to be in touch and learn as much as you can about the dogs you are considering adopting. Our very experienced and devoted trainer will be happy to share all aspects of OUR RESCUE DOGS to determine compatibility once you've submitted your application, and another of our volunteers will explain the whole process of our rescue and answer any questions you might have as well

If you have the time and love to offer this extremely bright dog who can make you laugh for hours at his antics, PLEASE APPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A RESCUE DOG VILLAGE DOG AND GIVE ONE A HOME. Our dogs deserve all that a committed family can offer. Make no mistake about it, this is one spectacular dog!

Please contact RescueDogVillage@yahoo.com and we will be happy to return your correspondence, but please submit the application now so we can have that information as a starting base for our dialogue.

THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING RESCUE AS A MEANS OF WELCOMING YOUR NEXT FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND INTO YOUR LIFE!

ALL interested adopters MUST complete an application; agree to a vet reference check, phone interview and home visit. ALL family members MUST be in attendance for home visits - no exceptions. This helps us get to know everyone in the family so that we can help find the right dog for you
