Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gronk - Available for Adoption
When this cat kept showing up in the neighborhood with a different injury every time, we had no other choice than to name him Gronk. Like his namesake, he was pretty beat up and it kind of added to his manly charm.
Gronk was very obviously someone’s pet at some point because he is fully socialized and friendly to humans. However, it is also obvious that he has spent years out on the streets. Not months. Years. Our guess is that he was an indoors/outdoors cat that got left behind when his owners moved. Gronk is about 6 years old and it is highly likely that he has spent most of his life fending for himself. The only cats that survive outside for that long are of the bad-ass kind, and Gronk definitely fits that bill.
Gronk may be a street cat, but he is a sweet street cat: he vocally calls out for attention, will rub against you, and loves to be petted – especially while he eats. As far as other cats are concerned, Gronk strongly prefers females and cannot be paired with another male cat (he is very alpha). Also, Gronk is the kind of cat that will stand up to a dog… and the dog’s odds don’t look too good. For this same reason, young children that might startle him and revive his street cat instincts are NOT a good idea. Gronk is an adult cat for an adult household that will keep him strictly indoors. Gronk somehow managed to stay negative for FIV/FeLV and, like all BFF cats, he is now vaccinated and neutered. Think Gronk may be a good match? Email us at catadoptions@bostonsforgottenfelines.org.
