Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Breena is a terrified young Dobie girl who grew up with a laid-back, confident male Pit Bull. One day both dogs were running loose in the central valley, and the Pit Bull was hit by a car and died. Breena had cuts, scrapes, and ligament damage in one leg, but she survived. Unfortunately though, her "alpha male" leader could no longer lead her, and she shut down behaviorally. After nearly three months of "down time," she moves normally and is in most ways an active young (about 20 months as of May, 2017) dog. We want to place her with a super-confident, gentle male dog that can be her leader, and in an adult home with very secure fencing or walls to prevent her from ever straying again. We fear that, if she were ever to escape, she might never be found again. Breena runs very fast and will take some time, perhaps weeks or longer, to trust a new owner and bond with him/her.
