Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kita is approximately a year and a half old. She was my son's dog (he's been living in an apartment downtown Chicago while going to school and recently changed housing locations which does not accept dogs).
Kita has been living with us since May 9th. We are unable to keep her because we already have a dog and 2 cats, but agreed to take her in because we did not want to see her put in a shelter for an indefinite period of time.
Kita has had a relatively easy time adjusting to her new home. She is potty trained, crate trained and knows several commands (sit, paw (shake) and down)/is very obedient.
Kita has lots of energy and would be perfect for a family that has older kids (13+) that can play with her (she loves fetching tennis balls/sticks/frisbees) and a large fenced in yard that she can run around in/chase animals (we think she has some sort of hunting/hearding instinct in her).
She is a little skittish when you first meet her, but once she knows/trusts you she is very sweet.
While she does get along with our dog/cats, I would not necessarily recommend she be considered for a playmate for another animal. She would do best as a single pet.
Areas she needs training in include containing her excitement when greeting people and being a better walker (too many distractions).
UPDATE: 7/1/17 after almost 2 months on this website we made the difficult decision to surrender Kita to the Will County Humane Society. If you are interested in seeing her, please call them at (xxx) xxx-xxxx or visit their website at https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/(xxx) xxx-xxxx 1
