Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Red is a 2-year-old Dogue De Bordeaux, also known as French Mastiff. When we first got Red, he was in awful shape, extremely skinny, very bloated, liquid diarrhea and very weak. Thanks to generous donations, we were able to do ultrasounds and a bunch of tests. He was put on a lot of medications, which helped some, but he was still not able to digest food normally. His body is just not able to absorb the protein. Thanks to advice from a holistic vet, we started cooking for Red and now he is doing much better. He is not bloated anymore and his stool is firm. The sad fact is that he will never be able to eat regular kibble, not even the expensive stuff. He needs special diet food which cost $95 for 25 lbs. bag, or better yet, he needs human cooked food (ground beef, ground turkey, spinach, carrots, brown rice, eggs and sardines).
If you are looking to adopt a sweet dog, and you have the funds to buy the special food, or you are willing to cook for Red, please fill out the adoption application on our website.
