Hero was found standing in the road guarding his dead buddy. It was a sad site... people honked as they swerved to miss them. Allan got out and drug his buddy out of the road to save this boy's life. Hero then stood guard over him on the side of the road but was safer. Allan worked with the landowner to feed him and try to befriend him. Hero was having nothing to do with leaving his friend. Allan had to trap him to save his life, and now he is a big galoof.

He walks well on a leash, and loves the girls that volunteer... his lives with silk and is now protective of her now, but would also adapt to protect your family.

Hero lives up to his name and we are proud to care for him until his forever family find him !

About Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue

About Our Shelter...

We started rescuing dogs in 2001 and became a non profit animal rescue in 2006 out of the sheer need to save animals from the streets, and pick up the ones dropped at our doorstep. We promote spay/neuter, and last year found forever homes for 129 animals from our location, and adopted over 400 through off site adoption..

Donate to Our Shelter...

Find the Pay Pal Donate Button on our Petfinder page or Facebook page.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open 7 days a week by appointment. Weekends are preferred. Come see our waggin' tails and happy faces on 22 acres with large runs and a 5 acre play area. Email to ask for directions and to make an appt.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a simple contract ensuring that our rescue will be well taken care of, medically and physically, will never be tied or chained, and that a secure fenced area is provided for outdoor play. We want for each a loving home and to become part of a family. Every animal is up to date on shots and spay/neuter is required.
