Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Walter is currently in a foster home in Janesville, Wisconsin. He is doing very well there where he is spoiled with love!. Walter is very energetic and playful. He is super cuddly and loves to be on his foster Mom's lap. Walter sleeps well at night in his kennel and likes to nap in his super soft dog bed. He has regular play dates with three other doggy friends (all are around 20 pound size) and loves to run around the fenced in yard. Walter is surprisingly fast for a 10 pound dog. He is learning fetch and will race to the toy being thrown even though he does not bring anything back yet. Walter walks well on his harness and loves car rides too. He is Mr. Personality and will sing to you if you howl. His pictures are cute, but he is irresistible in person!
Information from Houston: Walter was a medical rescue from the county animal shelter in Houston. He had been attacked by two large dogs. Walter has recovered & is doing wonderfully!
Walter is a four year old, ten pound, non-shedding Maltese cross boy who is heartworm negative and a REAL SWEETHEART!!! In Walter's ideal home, he would have the opportunity to be held in your arms & be a loyal companion. He would LOVE to be on the sofa next to you (or preferably on you or your lap) reading a book or watching a movie. Walter has been to the dog park twice & on a few walks. Each & every time we have taken him out, he has improved in walking with a harness & enjoyed the experience. Walter did not know how to walk on a leash prior to his rescue.
I have had Walter professionally groomed & bathed him several times. Walter absolutely loves a good bath & being pampered. He just eats up the attention!
Walter is accustomed to his foster children who are ten years of age & older. He loves his toys & collecting them on this dog bed. Our family is allergic to cats, so we do not know how Walter does with cats. Walter is still working on being 100% house trained. He is recently neutered & this should greatly help his house training goals. Walter is a great dog who will enrich your life each & every day. He wants to be a special fur baby & will flourish in a family of his own.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please note that preference is given to adopters in
Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.
