Mercury's Story...
Mercury and his sister Hadlee were rescued from Amish Country. They were part of an unwanted litter and their owner took them to the vet to be euthanized. Friendship was then called and they were brought here to find forever loving homes. Hadlee and Mercury are sweet one year old Collie mix siblings. They are very timid and scared and haven't had much socialization. These nice pups are not aggressive at all but will need lots of patience, training and tender loving care. They really don't know how to be family pets but would sure like to learn. They can be adopted together or separately. Hadlee will be available later in the week. She was taken to another facility to be spayed.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mercury, a Elyria Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
