My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable little guy is named Henry . He is approximately two years old and about 35 pounds. Henry was adopted from a shelter about five months ago but the family does not feel that they can keep him any longer. The shelter has been notified and agreed we are going to try to find him a home so he doesn't have to go back there. There is a significant chance he could regress and no one wants to see that happen but the family wants him placed immediately. Here is what they said about Henry.

Henry is a very affectionate dog that loves to be petted and have his belly rubbed. He is the happiest when his people are at home.

He loves to take naps in his bed in the sunshine and play with his toys.

Henry is great on his leash and enjoys going for walks and playing outside. He even enjoys going on runs with his people. He can get a little excited when he sees squirrels or other dogs, but listens when you say "heel" and will walk next to you. You need to watch out for food on the ground while out, because Henry will attempt to eat any food he finds. He responds to, "leave it" if you say it before he goes for the food!

He is house trained and is trained to sit, stay, lay down and leave it.

He can be a little leery of strangers and large sticks.

Henry is also crate trained and I will get a little bit more information about the following situation. Henry has always shown some aggression towards sone strangers... not over the top but enough for them to hire two trainers. The family worked with the trainers and said his behavior improved but still needed work. Recently Henry had an incident where he went after a guest in their home. Family was upset enough to feel that he needs to be placed elsewhere. They do not feel they can provide the training that he needs. They said Henry is great with the family and they have had no problems with any type of aggression toward them and not toward other people he has gotten to know. Sometimes he is fine with strangers. They're not able to identify what type of people Henry may not like and why. Henry is fully vaccinated and up to date on his shots and he is neutered and microchipped. Asking if he is regularly treated with Heartgard and flea medication. Location is Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area. Application and reference checks required as well as some experience with terrier breeds and or experience with guarding Behavior which is what Henry seems to be displaying.
