Major's Story...
This is a courtesy post. All questions and inquiries should be emailed to:

Major is a 4-year-old blue merle Great Dane. He was adopted from a shelter in GA a couple of years ago, but now family is going through a divorce and Major needs a new home (again).

Major is house broken, he's neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is approx 120 lbs. He is great with children and other animals. He loves to play with toys, jump around and run in the yard. He is great at napping and likes to be the one to cuddle up to you. He knows basic commands: sit, stay, lay, and come.

If you'd like to give Major a new home, please fill out the adoption application on our website. All applications will be forwarded to major's owner.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Major, a Austin Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Austin, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
