Maya's Story...
Maya is true to the hound breed and can be quite a barker when she is alone in her kennel. We have had her in the front office several times and have not heard a peep out of her the whole time. She is super sweet and loves attention. She is also gentle and has a calm demeanor. Maya is a very smart girl and she knows sit, lay down, and shake. She will make someone a wonderful companion. Maya must meet all family members that reside in the home. We do recommend that if a home has small children that she is watched around doors because she may run out and follow her nose (although we have not noticed any door dashing here at the shelter it may be different at a home).

Maya is not yet spayed yet, and will need to be spayed before she is adopted out. We are still taking applications on her however.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Chambersburg Redbone Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound dog from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
