Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The animal shelter named me DOTTIE! Bet you can't guess why!?! I don't think it has anything to do with the thousand of spots all over my coat. I have black, chocolate brown, tan and gray ones. The vet seems to think that I am a Pointer/ Hound mix. I am a pretty young lady, approximately 18 months old and I weigh a healthy 45 pounds. I was found as a stray in Southern Indiana. When I was brought into the shelter, I was in really good shape. The workers didn't think I had been wandering solo very long. Unfortunately, my owners never came to get me. When an opening in a foster home became available with Rover Rescue, I was able to make the trip north to safety. I am now looking for a home to call my own. Could that be with you? I have a great personality. I still have a lot of puppy energy and I love to play!!! I would love to have a sibling (canine or human) to help keep me active. My foster mom thinks I have medium energy, but if I am not exercised, I do get into mischief. I have an 10 month old foster dog sister to help me keep up my puppy antics. I get along really well with other dogs, but some may say I play a little rough. I am fed separately as the shelter mentioned that I can show some protectiveness of my food, but only with other dogs. I have been fine with adults. I would really like to have a home with a fenced yard. My nose sometimes gets the best of me and at those times, I have a hearing deficiency. I don't even recall my name. I do have a hound voice, but I am not annoying with my baying. I will alert you when there is a visitor or another dog in the area. I am doing really well with my potty training. I did have a couple of urine accidents when I first arrived in my foster home. Lately, I have been given the privilege of sleeping in the master bedroom free. I am crated while my temporary family is at work or out. I do whine some, but seem to calm down pretty quickly. I walk pretty well on a leash. I could use some more practice and I would really enjoy being your walking partner. I am a good traveler in the car. If you are looking for a fun loving girl, please call about me, DOTTIE! My foster mom, Darla, can be reached at 630-406-9405. My adoption fee is $200 and includes my recent spay, microchip and current vaccinations.
